My name is Kenny Denton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1969. I started my career at the legendary Pye Recording Studios in London. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This gave me the chance to learn the skills of recording from some of the finest engineers of the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This also allowed me to join the incredible adventures of the Pye mobile recording unit, working on amazing gigs like the 1970 I O W festival, recording bands such as The Who Jimi Hendrix, The Doors in fact the greatest artist of the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1971, I joined the newly built studios, De Lane Lea studios in Wembley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The largest purpose built complex in the World, catering for every aspect of the recording industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both Pye and DLL, were universities to learn sound recording<\/em>, but they also gave me the opportunity to study the art of producing records<\/em> and learning the craft of song writing<\/em> from the masters who occupied the charts and the studios on a daily basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The list of musicians, movie stars and characters that crossed the threshold of this building is quite incredible, it would be easier to name an artist that hadn\u2019t recorded there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By 1993 I bought and ran my own studio in Chiswick, London called KD\u2019s, where I remained until 2009 when I sold the studio to semi-retire. https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/search?q=kenny+denton&type=all<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1985 I left to go freelance and worked in Europe and the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this blog I decided to access some of my experiences from my diaries which I kept from 1969 until 2009.
These journals weren\u2019t recorded for any historical reason, but to make sure I knew what session I was working on and when.
Luckily for me I wrote notes from these wonderful sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They turned out to be a great reference to help add dates to my adventures which I would now like to share with you here
