My Book Is Now Available From Amazon

After what feels like forever and in fact was a lifetime, I’m thrilled to announce that my book is finished and on sale

If you are even slightly intrigued and want to read more of these stories, the book is now available through Amazon.

I hope you enjoy it I know I did.

Growing up in the East End of the 1950s was no walk in the park. But it wasn’t until I stumbled upon the magic of music and cinema that I realised there was a whole world beyond my imagination. In 1969, fate handed me a golden ticket: a job as a tea boy at Pye Studios. From there, my life skyrocketed into the heart of the music industry.

I crisscrossed the globe, recording some of the greatest artists of the time, rubbing shoulders with my idols, and forming bonds with legends like Peter Green, The Who, Jimi Hendrix  and movie stars  such as James Garner Anthony Newley. The stories, laughter, and occasional disasters are all captured here, straight from the pages of my diaries.

Within these pages discover

  • Which major record company executive warned me of Jimi Hendrix’s impending death just three weeks before his died.
  • Learn how Bill Haley intervened to save Chuck Berry’s life.
  • Find out how I ended up sharing  a pint of beer in a pub with a grizzly bear  who sold 250,000 singles without ever charting.
  • Uncover the story of the singing waiter who defied the odds to become one of the biggest artists in history.
  • Explore how John Lennon and Yoko Ono played a role in naming the band Hot Chocolate.
  • Experience the challenges of producing an album with the legendary guitarist Peter Green.
  • Read about the unexpected encounter I had with movie star James Garner, who unknowingly bought me breakfast when I was a teenager.
  • Discover the truth behind Mungo Jerry’s hit single “In The Summertime.”
  • Learn why Bing Crosby made a heartwarming phone call that touched many lives.
  • Find out what Fred Astaire’s mother thought of his singing voice.
  • Explore the remarkable story of the hit songwriter, journalist, and spy catcher who executed an incredible sting operation inspired by the movie “The Sting.”
  • Delve into my close friendship with Tony Newley and the true identity of Anthony Newley.
  • My crazy adventure in Louisiana’s Cajun country, where I believe I came across Snow White’s and Dopey’s offspring.
  • How I found out that you can always tell a Texan BUT! You can’t tell him much.

And much more.

While my stories centre around the music industry, you need not possess any knowledge of the business or be an avid music enthusiast. They are stories featuring some of the most intriguing characters  I have been lucky enough to spend time with.

Wishing you all the best
Kenny

Subject: Your Book

 Hi Kenny

Just started reading your book and can’t put it down, you have really found the essence / feel of the time.

All those studios mentioned all long gone, as are so many of the people; we certainly had the best era to experience the recording industry.

Just thought I would let you know your book is being appreciated.

Hi Kenny & Sue, this is Brad… I’ve just finished the book and Wow! What an absolute thrill to read.

I’m literally amazed by how much you have accomplished and the bands and acts that you have been able to collaborate with and meet along the way. What an astounding journey it was and with sue along beside you for the ride must have been the icing on the cake!

The stories you have to tell are brilliant and I’m so glad that you’ve put them down in a book.

Congratulations once again on an absolutely riveting read, we both loved it

Hi Suzie

One thing I will say so far is SO professional! Not the ramblings of Granddad chatting to a child ???? – not at all! I bet it tok a lot of thought etc…, about the structure and how the whole thing was put together ????. Really pleased. Kenny should be chuffed! (and his able assistant too!)

Love

Vivienne
